For over two decades, the Music Partnership Program has allowed passionate students to provide music training and mentoring to talented at-risk youth in Los Angeles’ most underserved communities. Each year, UCLA music students teach and inspire hundreds of inner-city youths across the partnership sites.

While weekly lessons constitute the program’s core, participants may also take advantage of academic tutoring, college prep activities, and opportunities to attend musical and cultural events throughout Los Angeles. These activities culminate in year-end concerts and recitals, where Music Partnership students demonstrate their abilities and hard work for audiences of friends and family.

The UCLA Music Partnership Program is dedicated to enhancing music programs in Los Angeles’ most underserved communities whose musical resources are otherwise limited. Throughout each school year, UCLA music students provide music lessons (both one-on-one and group), technical training, small ensemble coaching, and academic mentoring to young Angelinos at the partnership sites: The Boys & Girls Club of Hollywood, UCLA Community School RFK, and Horace Mann UCLA Community School.

The Music Partnership Program offers individual and group instruction in piano, guitar, voice, strings, woodwinds, percussion, composition, and music production at the elementary, middle, and high school levels.
