DESCRIPTION:Film screening of Nkoli: A Fierce and Fabulous Life presented in collaboration with the CAP UCLA as part of the Opera | Black | Queer symposium. Pre-film talk with composer Philip Miller and music director Tshegofatso Moeng\, moderated by Michael Mohammed (SFCM and Opera Parallèle) begins at 3:30pm. \nVisit the official CAP UCLA website for details and free tickets: https://cap.ucla.edu/event/nkoli-fierce-and-fabulous-life \n____ \nThis three-day symposium welcomes scholars\, practitioners\, and students to join the international Black Opera Research Network (BORN) for papers\, a workshop\, a performance\, and the North American premiere of an opera film.
