Trinity is a passionate Music History and Industry student who grew up in the city of Los Angeles, inevitably falling deeply in love with the music industry. With over 10 years of studio, event planning, and Film/TV music experience, she’s explored every aspect creatively and professionally, leading her to UCLA where she’s held leadership positions in student organizations like the Music Industry Students Association and Student Committee for the Arts. After her experience as an intern with Universal Pictures in their Film Music department, Trinity wanted to tackle an independent project where she’d take on everything from music licensing and clearance, to publishing, to pitching and commissioning new music for a film. That’s where A for Effort came in, with the Latine Film and Theatre Association allowing Trinity to music supervise their short film. With a team of talented and ambitious UCLA students, this indie rom-com came to life right here in Trinity’s hometown.

Thomas Gerney, a Bay Area native, has lived a life deeply rooted in music, which has shaped his identity and aspirations. After nearly a decade of deliberation, he chose to follow his passion, transferring to UCLA to pursue a career in music, specifically in A&R, where he aims to discover and elevate unique voices. Alongside his professional ambitions, Thomas is interested in the sociology of representation, striving to understand how media and culture influence societal perceptions of identity, race, and gender. His ultimate goal is to create a more equitable and inclusive world where individuals are seen, understood, and celebrated for who they are. By merging his passion for music with his commitment to social change, Thomas hopes to challenge stereotypes, amplify underrepresented voices, and foster a culture of empathy and celebration, inspiring others to embrace their authentic selves and contribute to a more inclusive society.

Sophie Weinstein is an aspiring A&R majoring in Music Industry and minoring in Film, Television, and Digital Media. After unsuccessfully trying to play music herself, Sophie resorted to listening to as much music as she possibly could and attended endless concerts throughout the Greater Philadelphia area. She is drawn to songs with poetic lyricism and inventive instrumentation, and she really began to appreciate and research the craft of producing and songwriting once she got to high school. After her experience working as an A&R intern at Epic Records and a Creative Sync intern at Sony Music Publishing, she decided to fuse what she had learned into a comprehensive project for her senior capstone project that focuses on music publishing A&R. Sophie fully recognizes the talent and artistry of these creatives that tends to go unnoticed, and she believes it is of the utmost importance to support and spotlight the individuals who are behind the song.

Sheng Chang is a singer/songwriter and music creative fueled by a deep passion for music and artistry. Growing up on the East Coast and in the digital age, she immersed herself in pop music culture by finding community through fandoms and social media. With a strong background in digital media and marketing, Sheng is drawn to the creative side of the music industry, where artistry and innovation meet. As she prepares to graduate from UCLA’s’ Music Industry program with a minor in Film, Television and Digital Media, she sees this moment as both a culmination of her journey and a launchpad for what comes next—a time to embrace new opportunities and bring her creative vision into the industry.

Scott Chapman is a music producer and entrepreneur specializing in trap music production. After years of collaborating with rappers and fellow producers, he recognized key shortcomings in music industry technology. Driven by his innovative mindset, Scott set out to develop a solution: Cloud Create: an app that simplifies the creative process and removes common workflow barriers. Designed to streamline every stage of music creation and collaboration. It automates file syncing, integrates file-based calendars for effortless project management, and ensures seamless organization across devices. With Cloud Create, creatives can focus on what they do best—making music—while the app handles the logistics, putting success at their fingertips anytime, anywhere. Scott’s passion for making music has inspired him to take a new path, helping others create more efficiently and effectively.

Since childhood, Rosemarie has grown up surrounded by music. She points her love for the art to have started as a result of hearing her father's radio playing 80s rock, Michael Jackson, and Kansas and his daily guitar practice sessions. Rosemarie began her musical journey as a violinist, having performed in orchestra ensembles for nearly 10 years, ultimately choosing to pursue a career in the music business (against her mother's wishes) by attending UCLA. During her time at UCLA, Rosemarie grew an affinity for music marketing and now holds a position at a rock record label as part of their digital marketing team. When she's not working or trying to pass her classes, Rosemarie can be found getting ready to go out with friends or cooking with her Spotify playlist turned all the way up.

Marin grew up in LA going to shows with her mom and rooting through her dad’s vinyl collection. After riding the band kid pipeline for too many years (French horn), Marin landed safely in the arms of the Westwood music scene. Along with roommate and capstone collaborator Estrella Rico, Marin has spent the past four years attending, working, and throwing shows for local musicians in Westwood. Forever grateful to this community, Moxi Music is Marin’s way of saying thank you.

Madison Starr is a Music Industry and Political Science double major, minoring in Ethnomusicology. Growing up, Madison was surrounded by music, whether listening to the Eagles with her father or hearing her grandmother hum Cantonese opera melodies, which naturally developed her passion for music. From playing classical trumpet throughout middle and high school, to producing music with her friends throughout college, to connecting to her cultural history through learning her grandfather’s primary instrument, the erhu, Madison has always been deeply connected to music. Simultaneously, she has been fascinated by the intersection between music, politics, and social movements, driving her passion for bridging the two concepts through her studies. This led her to conduct an independent research project at the University of Cambridge exploring the role of music in notable social movements in the United States and China. Professionally, for the past year and a half, Madison has expanded her expertise in music publishing and music business legal affairs as an intern in various departments at NBCUniversal, working in both Los Angeles and New York. With hopes of entering entertainment law, music supervision, or music publishing, her capstone project aims to showcase her ability to effectively bridge and work across the multifaceted film and music industries.

Kate is a singer-songwriter, sync professional, academic, and creative hailing from Los Angeles, California. Her love of music and all aspects of storytelling has been present from an early age, as she grew up singing and playing guitar and piano in a house where music was always encouraged. As a graduating senior in UCLA’s esteemed Herb Alpert School’s Music Industry program, and as a queer female-identifying person herself, Kate aspires to continue telling the stories of female, queer, and underrepresented communities through impactful music placement in media. When she’s not writing songs or making playlists, she enjoys making oat milk matcha lattes, eating tacos, going on walks, and hitting the beach!

Kate Greeley is a Brooklyn native, former opera singer, and current Music Industry student at The UCLA Herb Alpert School of Music, with dreams of working in A&R. She’s spent an alarming percentage of her life listening to music, which sparked an obsession with how it shapes mood, behavior, and even the brain itself. This curiosity led her down a rabbit hole of interdisciplinary studies in neuroscience and music, where she explored how sound literally rewires us. Before diving headfirst into the music business, Kate wanted to take a more scientific look at her favorite (and, let’s be honest, cheapest) form of therapy. She hopes this project is just the start of a lifelong passion for music-based interventions—no matter where in the industry she lands.

Bella Marcy makes alternative music with a pop edge—raw, anthemic, and unfiltered. Described as “Avril Lavigne meets Chappell Roan”, she blends sharp storytelling with melodies that stick, creating songs that hit like a confession and a catharsis all at once. Music has shaped Bella’s life at every turn — a youth spent immersed in sound, sneaking out in high school to jam with her screamo band, dissecting records, and chasing the spark of a great song. She plays seven instruments, produces music, and by 18, had built the foundation of her solo project, pouring her deep connection to music into every track. Beyond her artistry, Bella is a vocal advocate for independent musicians, working to empower artists in an industry built for major players.

Isabela Presti grew up in New Jersey and has been obsessed with music for as long as she can remember. Now a Music Industry major at UCLA, she has found her passion in artist management and A&R—helping musicians shape their sound, strategy, and careers. While she may not have any musical talent of her own, she remains determined to win a Grammy one day (she’ll figure it out). Managing Royal Fools has been one of the most rewarding experiences of her life, and she plans to keep working with them for as long as they’ll let her. Beyond that, she looks forward to a career in A&R, discovering and developing the next generation of artists.

Hasitha Guhan is a pop artist who integrates sonic palettes from the early 2000s to 2010s to form an upbeat, energetic sound. These nostalgic element provides a refreshing counterpoint to the prevalent themes of confidence, female empowerment, and vulnerability in Guhan’s music. No matter what she’s doing, Hasitha Guhan wants to make you dance. A core aspect of Guhan's mission is to address the underrepresentation of South Asian artists in mainstream pop music. Through her work, she aims to break barriers and increase visibility for her community within the mainstream pop scene.

Hannah Gill grew up in a family of musicians and gained an ear for talent at a very early age. Given her insights, she chose to pursue a career in A&R and has worked at The Revels Group / Coup D'Etat Music over the course of her senior year, product managing acts such as Kenzie Cait, Sophie Gray, and Jack Sanders. In her career, Hannah aims to bring more diversity into the mainstream music space, creating an environment where everyone feel they they can thrive regardless of race, gender, or sexual orientation.

Greyson Suchecki is an audio engineer, producer, and multi-instrumentalist, bringing massive, cinematic soundscapes to both the stage and the studio. When he’s not mixing live audio for Grammy-winning artists or world-renowned political figures, he’s pouring everything into Royal Fools, the band he built with his identical twin. With Royal Fools, he creates the music queer kids loved in the 2000s—only this time, it’s made by and for them.

Grace Nguyen is an aspiring social media marketing professional and fourth year Music History and Industry student at UCLA. Pulling from her experiences with social media management, content creation, and data analysis, she prides herself on her strategic storytelling abilities. From creating social media campaigns for influencers and newsletters, and working on brand collaborations with Ulta and Lancôme, Grace aims to apply her knowledge of digital marketing to her career in the music industry. Currently, she is the Executive Director of Cadence Chamber Artists, a nonprofit organization dedicated to bringing accessible chamber music education to middle school and high school students in South Orange County. She hopes to foster a lasting passion for the arts in the students she teaches, and make an impact in music education. When she’s not running her nonprofit or taking infinite photos for her photo dumps, she can be found listening to Beyoncé’s discography for the millionth time, hosting a dinner party with her friends, or drinking herbal tea to end her night.

Grace Masura is an emerging music marketing professional and event producer, currently working at °1824, Universal Music Group’s creative solutions division. A graduating senior at UCLA, she has honed her skills in music marketing and live event production through roles at Interscope Records, °1824, Doug Weston’s Troubadour, Gloom Management, and Cherry Pop Records, UCLA’s student-run label. As a founding member and events director of Cherry Pop Records, Grace executive produced 20+ events featuring local talent. She also contributed to influencer campaigns at °1824, supporting artists like Ice Spice, Miranda Lambert, and Yung Gravy. Grace is passionate about bringing artists’ visions to life and is excited to continue growing her expertise in the music industry while helping artists connect with their audiences.

e Rose is a multihyphenate. The rapper/singer/producer/engineer makes hiphop music that is intended to leave listeners more connected to oneself and inspires them to think about and experience life in a new light. His chill and melodic production and vocals, most often compared with that of Mac Miller, are blended with introspective storytelling to help listeners connect on more than just a surface level. For the LA native, music has always been a big part of the rapper’s life. From playing in bands and orchestra to being educated by his father’s expansive knowledge and love for all kinds of music. Early on, e Rose became fascinated with the storytelling and cadences associated with hiphop. Deep down, he always dreamed of being in the rap scene, whether or not he was aware of it at the time. His love for eclectic music and passion for hiphop are ever present in his production and shine through the intersection of rapping and singing in his music.

Estrella is a Music History & Industry major with a Global Studies minor, driven by a lifelong passion for music that began with classical performance. Over time, that love evolved into a deep interest in helping artists shape their sound and brand. Whether through artist development, live events, or simply curating niche Spotify playlists for fun, Estrella is always looking for new ways to connect people with great music.

Esme Lee is a multifaceted being belonging to the Homo Sapiens. She likes to cook, hangout with dogs, and drive her mini cooper. She can’t juggle but she can play the harmonica and cartwheel (sort of) (probably not at the same time). She’s also a ginger and graduating from the UCLA Herb Alpert School of Music with a Music Industry degree.

Elena is a Music Industry and Statistics & Data Science student at UCLA with a focus on the intersection of music, technology, and data. Through her leadership in the past two years as president and founding member of Cherry Pop Records, the first and only independent student-run record label at UCLA, Elena gained experience in kickstarting an indie label, label operations, business affairs, A&R, and digital distribution. In past projects, Elena has researched how labels have leveraged their relationships with DSPs to influence platform offerings, payment models, and more. Elena’s experiences in marketing and artist relations this past summer furthered her understanding of DSP-label dynamics, where she developed marketing strategies for major artists and gained insight into how major labels work with DSPs around key releases. Her interest in finding solutions for ways the music industry can evolve to better support artists, fans, and working professionals leads Elena to examine issues such as market oversaturation in digital music streaming and its many effects on the record business in the US. Ultimately, Elena intends to pursue entertainment law with the goal of representing and advocating for other artists.

Desmond Wong is an aspiring tour manager who is a Music Industry major with a minor in Entrepreneurship. Growing up in San Francisco, Des was introduced to a variety of music, and he learned how to sing as well as play the guitar, piano, and drums. He loved making music, however, he was always intrigued by live performances. With each concert he attended, Des became more and more curious about what went on behind the scenes. This curiosity led to Des researching and learning about what it takes to be on the road. With this knowledge of the touring industry as well as his knowledge of other areas of the music industry, Des aims to become a tour manager who can put on an amazing show night in and night out while ensuring that his artists and his team are taken care of.

Colin Love grew up surrounded by music, with a voice coach for a father and a professional songwriter for a sister. From an early age, he was immersed in singing, became proficient on bass and piano, and even co-founded his first band, The Negotiators, in the second grade. While in college, he shifted his focus to writing and producing for other artists, gaining valuable industry experience along the way. Over time, he worked his way up from intern to Director of A&R at Unrestricted Music Publishing and Management, developing both his creative and executive skills. Now, after years of working behind the scenes, Colin is stepping back into the spotlight, dedicating himself to his own music and artistic vision.

Cathryn, known by many as Catie, is a passionate creative who found her love for visual media through her career in the music business. Determined to share the importance and beauty of concert photography with the world, Catie sought to establish a united space for like-minded aspiring creatives. Having worked with and photographed several renowned artists such as Stevie Nicks, Harry Styles, Queen, Hozier, and Ed Sheeran, she has garnered years of experience in live music production and content distribution. Also working professionally in the creative advertising field within the film industry, Catie has continued to pursue her passions in visual media across the entertainment industry. When she's not at a show or editing photos, Catie can be found talking about the latest and greatest in pop culture, catching up on her to-be-read list, and hosting movie nights with friends and family.

Bree Frances is a singer-songwriter with a passion for storytelling and emotional connection. She began making music at 14 after a dance injury pushed her to find a new creative outlet—and she hasn’t stopped since. Known for her distinct vocal tone and heartfelt lyricism, Bree is dedicated to telling stories that often go unheard and exploring emotions that aren’t always discussed. Through her music, she aims to create a sense of belonging, making listeners feel seen and understood. She believes that the best music comes from honesty, and she strives to stay true to herself in every song she writes.

August Suchecki is a frontman, first and foremost: an electric, emotional performer with raw, gritty vocals to match. When he isn’t screaming his head off on stage, he is a passionate photographer and videographer creating work for artists like Chappell Roan, Johnny Cash, and Wallows through his job at Universal Music Group. Even in his free time, he is always working on something creative, whether it’s songwriting, editing videos, designing posters, or other artistic ventures.

Alison Mendoza is an aspiring artist manager majoring in Music Industry. Growing up, she was captivated by her mom’s extensive CD collection, spending hours immersed in the stories and emotions found in every album. This love for music evolved into a fascination with the power of immersive concept art. Alison spent the past four years gaining hands-on management and label experience through various roles at Full Stop Management, Giant Music, Rolling Loud, The Revels Group, and The Ogunlesi Group as well as providing support on tours for artists like Tate McRae and 21 Savage. Supporting a diverse roster of artists at all stages of their careers, Alison has found it the most rewarding participating in world building and community engagement: what initially drew her to pursuing this career. She is beyond grateful for her time spent at UCLA, working alongside future industry power players and creating life long friends.
