Meghan Turner
Lecturer, Music Education--Brass Methods, Music Performance

DMA, UCLA Department of Music

Hailing from Vancouver, British Columbia, Meghan Turner received her BMus from the University of Victoria, an Artist’s Diploma from the Vancouver Academy of Music, and her MMus from the University of British Columbia. Meghan moved to Los Angeles, in 2002, and  received her Doctor of Musical Arts in Trumpet Performance from the University of Los Angeles in 2006. Since then, Meghan enjoys the busy career of a freelance musician: playing, teaching, coaching, and adjudicating throughout Southern California. Currently, Meghan is the trumpet instructor at Santa Monica Community College and teaches the Brass Methods class at UCLA, as well as running a large private studio and coaching at various schools in the region. In her spare time, Meghan volunteers with many rescue organizations, fostering dogs and cats while they wait to find their forever homes, and loves to spend time with her family.
