Michele Scanlon
Lecturer, Music Performance

Michele Scanlon is a native of Philadelphia, PA with a Bachelor in Music Education from The University of Delaware. She worked for the last twenty some years as a staff pianist at the prestigious Academy of Vocal Arts in Philadelphia, where she worked closely with renowned voice teacher Bill Schuman and performed frequently with well respected singers such as Othalie Graham, Marina Costa-Jackson and UCLA alumna Vanessa Vasquez. She also served for five years as a coach and pianist with Russian Opera Workshop in Philadelphia, where she coached and played multiple masterclasses and performed on the Russian Romance concerts. Ms. Scanlon is a seasoned producer, having initiated and produced over 150 opera galas at the Tomasello Winery in New Jersey featuring singers of the caliber of Angela Meade and Bryan Hymel and countless other wonderful singers from the Philadelphia/NewYork area. She has served as Music Director or Assistant Music Director with New Jersey Opera Theatre, ConcertOPERA Philadelphia, Concert Operetta Theatre, International Opera Theatre, Bloomsday at the Rosenbach and The Savoy Company.
