Russell Kelban
Director of Strategic Communications and Marketing

Russell Kelban brings to The UCLA Herb Alpert School of Music over 25 years of experience in marketing, communications, and brand strategy. He most recently served as vice president of strategic engagement and marketing for the Oregon Symphony, where he was responsible for earned revenue, public relations and audience development. Previously, Russell was chief marketing director at the San Francisco Symphony with broad oversight of all aspects of the customer experience, encompassing marketing and sales, patron and ticket services, front-of-house, and retail operations. At the San Francisco Symphony he spearheaded the launch of the acclaimed music laboratory and popular multi-media concert series, SoundBox.

Prior to his career in the non-profit performing arts, Russell held senior marketing positions at several major entertainment studios including Paramount Pictures, NBC/Universal and The Walt Disney Company.  In addition, Russell has held marketing roles at leading high-tech companies including Macromedia (now Adobe) and Autodesk.
