Supporting Our Applicants During the Global Pandemic
Dear prospective students,
In this time of uncertainty, we remain committed to the health and safety of our current and prospective students. Current circumstances call us to reimagine how we might best support students applying for fall 2021 entry to one of the degree programs offered by the UCLA Herb Alpert School of Music. We affirm the following for prospective students affected by COVID-19:
- For undergraduates, UC has temporarily adjusted admissions requirements. You may read more about what this entails here.
- We continue to offer the option of submitting a video-recorded audition in lieu of an on-campus audition. We do not know how long shelter-in-place orders will last, nor do we know how COVID-19 will continue to affect both domestic and international travel, as well as the ability to gather in groups. We understand that the health and safety of prospective students and their families must take precedent above all else.
- As we will be unable to offer School of Music tours and in-person meetings until at least Fall, we are utilizing Zoom for Q&A sessions, virtual tours, and meetings with admissions staff.
We wish you, your family, and your friends continued health and safety, and hope that you might take comfort in our commitment to supporting you in the pursuit of your dreams despite these challenging times. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to Emily Spitz, our Associate Director for Recruitment, via email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
