Reed Quintet: MODEM Reeds

MODEM Reeds is a quintet with saxophonist Matthew Chavez (UG5), bass clarinetist Owen Richards (UGT2), bassoonist, Dani Santana (UG3), oboist, Emma Crawford (UG3), and clarinetist, Max Kamisky (UG2). Formed in 2024, the group is comprised of Music Education and Performance majors from the UCLA Herb Alpert School of Music. This combination of instruments, commonly known as a reed quintet, is a recent addition to the classical cannon that has been gaining popularity in recent years. MODEM Reeds mission is to expand the reed quintet repertoire and bring a diverse program to audiences throughout the greater LA area.
