The 45-voice UCLA Chamber Singers and the 90-voice UCLA Choral will provide a stunningly beautiful performance intended to create memories and evoke emotions. In the acoustically advanced sanctuary, listeners will be treated to music that is traditional to the holidays as well as music from traditions around the world. A gathering song from Zimbabwe, music from Israel, polyphony from the 16th century, folk songs from the United States and much more will be featured in this one-night-only performance. The two choirs will combine at the end of the program to surround the audience in candlelight and the warmth of the human voice in song.
This event is made possible by the David and Irmgard Dobrow Fund. Classical music was a passion of the Dobrows, who established a generous endowment at The UCLA Herb Alpert School of Music to make programs like this possible. We are proud to celebrate this program as part of the 2022 - 23 Dobrow Series.
