Women In Music LA, in partnership with UCLA Herb Alpert School of Music, invites you to an intimate songwriting introduction with Natasha Pasternak as she takes you on a journey exploring songwriting & creativity.

Natasha Pasternak is an artist in the most honest sense of the word. As a songwriter and composer, to a producer and performer, to a Professor and founder of her new company, Desert Dream Creative. Natasha has fully embodied what it takes to be a successful musician and entrepreneur.

Classically trained in performing arts at Randolph College for the Performing Arts was the last stop before launching her solo career under her given name, Natasha Pasternak. In 2010, she co-founded the acclaimed indie pop band, Hands & Teeth. One part Broken Social Scene, one part Arcade Fire, Hands & Teeth dominated festivals across North America (SXSW, POPMontreal, CMW and NXNE to name a few). Their songs found homes locally and internationally, featured on various radio and television stations including the CBC, BBC, Much Music and MTV. In 2016 Natasha lent her vocals for Warner Bros. official trailer for The Legend of Tarzan, now with over 16,000,000 plays.

Natasha is currently located in Los Angeles as an active committee member for Women In Music L.A (WIM LA), as well she is about to launch her own songwriting workshop/masterclass business, Desert Dream Creative. Over the years Natasha has been selected for various prestigious workshops and mentorships, including ASCAP’s Harold Adamson Workshop. Where she got to work one on one with top industry professionals (Mr. Hudson, Autumn Rowe, Jayson De Zuzio, Nicole Morier, Andrew Cider and Daniel Werman). Natasha will be completing her winter quarter lecturing songwriting at the Herb Alpert School of Music, UCLA this spring. This summer she will be acting as Assistant Director and lead instructor for UCLA Herb Alpert school of music’s Teen Summer Songwriting Intensive. What if we listened to music with our tongue, feet, or skin? In this interactive event, we will experiment with multi-sensory experience of music. Engaging with a writing model from PEER Lab graphic designer Julliet Bellocq and founder Nina Eidsheim can help us relate to our senses more fully, and deepen our relationship with music and ourselves.
