The David L. Abell Piano Masters Series Featuring Ilya Poletaev

Renowned pianist Ilya Poletaev conducts a masterclass for UCLA student pianists and performs as part of The David L. Abell Piano Masters Series. Acclaimed for his interpretations of Bach, Poletaev will perform Bach’s monumental Goldberg Variations, BWV 988.

This event is made possible thanks to a gift from Barbara Abell who established The David L. Abell Piano Masters Series in honor of her late husband. Pianos were a passion for David, the owner of David L. Abell’s Fine Pianos in Los Angeles, which became a hot-spot for musical legends such as Frank Sinatra, Stevie Wonder, Andre Previn, George Shearing, Bob Hope, Tony Bennett, and Benny Carter. We are proud to celebrate this program as part of the 2022 - '23 David L. Abell Piano Master Series.

Like most of UCLA Herb Alpert School of Music’s programs, this event is FREE!  Early arrival is recommended. Seating is on a first-come, first-seated basis. No RSVP required.

PARKING

Self-service parking is available at UCLA’s Parking Structure #2 for events in Schoenberg Music Building and the Evelyn and Mo Ostin Music Center. Costs range from $1 for 20 minutes to $20 all day. Learn more about campus parking.
