Lila Mendoza
Assistant Director of Student Affairs - Enrollment Management & Recruitment

Lila Mendoza oversees undergraduate admission for The UCLA Herb Alpert School of Music. A Los Angeles native, Lila has over a decade of experience working in education and is passionate about student equity, access and opportunity.

Before joining the School of Music, Lila worked in central admissions at UCLA where she began as a transfer recruiter and later transitioned to an evaluator position. While she enjoys working at a public four-year university, Lila has worked in several facets of education including K-12, community college, and four-year private institutions. As a first-generation college graduate and daughter of immigrants, she completed her bachelor’s at Pitzer College in Claremont, California. She then pursued her master’s in educational counseling at the University of Southern California.

In her role, Lila hopes to demystify the college application process for prospective students and their families while continuing to bring in talent that represents LA’s rich diversity. Outside work, she enjoys traveling, spending time at the beach, and visiting different coffee/tea shops throughout the city.
