Before joining The UCLA Herb Alpert School of Music, Cameron has been a freelance oboist and educator, performing with many orchestral groups in the South Florida and Southern California regions such as the Gulf Coast Symphony, Florida Wind Symphony, and Bakersfield Symphony Orchestra. Cameron is now a chaired member of the Bakersfield Symphony Orchestra and also performs in the recording studios for film scores.
Cameron is passionate about providing diverse and inclusive music education to the community around him. He believes that every child should have quality access to a holistic music education. Cameron has taught elementary music through University of Southern California’s Thornton Community Engagement Program to schools surrounding USC, and currently teaches private oboe lessons. When not performing or teaching, Cameron thoroughly enjoys hiking, painting, beach volleyball, and attending LA’s numerous farmer’s markets.
A Houston native, Cameron is a graduate of the University of Miami’s Frost School of Music with his Bachelor of Music in Oboe Performance, and is a graduate from USC Thornton School of Music where he earned his Master of Music in Oboe Performance.
