Composer Henry Threadgill in Residence

jazz, lectures-symposia, world-music

“...perhaps the most important jazz composer of his generation." – The New York Times

Winner of the Pulitzer Prize for Music in 2016 for his album In for a Penny, In for a Pound, Henry Threadgill's work combines African, African American, and other world traditions in what can truly be considered “world music.” He is also a saxophonist and flutist who has fronted eclectic ensembles over the years. The composer will discuss his music and career with Distinguished Professor James Newton. Audience Q&A follows the conversation.
