Garrett Schoonover
Garrett Schoonover, bass-baritone, is a graduate student at UCLA studying vocal performance under Michael Dean. Originally from Salt Lake City, Utah, he earned his undergraduate in music composition from Westminster College. Before enrolling at UCLA, he served in the military. Schoonover was selected as the vocalist for the Armenian Music Ensemble based on his previous knowledge of Persian Farsi. He started studying the Armenian text and learning about the emotions behind the music with coach Vatsche Barsoumian, singer and head of the Lark Musical Society.
