First International Percussion Festival at UCLA

An all-day event featuring a variety of percussion masterclasses, workshops, and an evening performance featuring students and invited artists. The event culminates in a concert by the Arturo Stable Band, including special guest artists.

  • 10:00am: Percussion Master Class: Rhythmic Concepts for Non-Drummers; Taught by Arturo Stable
  • 11:00am: Percussion Master Class: Flamenco Rhythms; Taught by Andres Vadin and Arturo Stable
  • 12:00pm: Break for lunch
  • 1:00pm: Percussion Master Class: Brazilian Concepts for Drum Set; Taught by Marcelo Bocater
  • 2:00pm: Percussion Master Class: Jazz Drums; Taught by Jonathan Pinson
  • 3:00pm: Open Drum Circle; Coordinated by Arturo Stable
  • 6:00pm: Master Class for Dance and Drums: Afro Cuban Music; Taught by Union Matanzera (Afro Cuban folklore group)

Schoenberg Hall (Room 1100)

  • 4:00pm: Concert by the Joey Heredia Band
  • 8:00pm: Concert by the Arturo Stable Band and Union Matancera
