Allison Wolfe
Lecturer - Music Industry (Music Journalism, Audio Storytelling)

Allison Wolfe co-founded the fanzine Girl Germs, all-girl band Bratmobile, third-wave feminist punk movement Riot Grrrl, and non-profit music festival Ladyfest. She holds a master’s degree from the USC Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism where she was an Annenberg Fellow in the Specialized Journalism (The Arts) program. Wolfe produces a podcast, I’m in the Band, which explores an artist’s journey through personal history, musical awakening, and cultural activism. Her freelance audio and written pieces have appeared in LAist/KPCC, Tidal, Bust, Smithsonian Folklife, No Depression, Talkhouse, Women Who Rock, New York Press, BB Gun, and more. Previously, Wolfe worked in print media at the Washington Post, Sculpture magazine, VIZ Media, and Prism/ASEE. She has made public speaking appearances at Stanford, Smithsonian Libraries, Smithsonian Folklife, ALOUD/LA Central Library, LA Art Book Fair, LA Times Festival of Books, UCLA, USC, Ludlow House, Neuehouse, House of Vans, Museum of Pop Culture, Otis College, University of Cincinnati, LA Zine Fest, West Hollywood City Council Chambers, and Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico. Wolfe continues to sing in bands, DJ, teach, and work on an oral history of Riot Grrrl.
