We are the Klezmer Music Ensemble, bringing fresh and vibrant expressions of Ashkenazi Jewish musical traditions! With musicians hailing from South Africa to California, we add a touch of whimsical worldliness to this timeless art form. We perform traditional klezmer standards alongside original arrangements of Stevie Wonder, Studio Ghibli, and more. Drawing on specialized training from The UCLA Herb Alpert School of Music’s music faculty and guidance from Janice Mautner Markham, violinist of the acclaimed band “Mostly Kosher”, we share our passion for music-making through a unique and worldly performance experience, while also educating audiences about the cultural and historical roots that shape the sounds we create.
