UCLA Philharmonia at Disney Hall

classical
Walt Disney Concert Hall Watch Livestream

As part of its Spring 2025 Mahler Grooves Festival, the Los Angeles Philharmonic has invited several Southern California training orchestras to perform Mahler on the Disney Hall stage throughout the day and evening of Sunday, March 2.  At 5 PM that day, UCLA Philharmonia will perform Mahler’s monumental Sixth Symphony (“Tragic”), conducted by UCLA Director of Orchestral Studies Neal Stulberg.  Our Sixth will be followed directly by Mahler chamber works performed by students from the USC Thornton School, followed by a performance of Mahler Symphony No. 2 ("Resurrection”) performed by the Colburn Conservatory Orchestra and Los Angeles Master Chorale.  A Mahlerian feast!  Please come to Disney Hall to cheer on the 110 musicians of UCLA Philharmonia.

UCLA Philharmonia is the flagship orchestra of the UCLA Herb Alpert School of Music, and one of Southern California’s premiere training orchestras. Focusing on both the core symphonic and operatic repertoire, and the best in contemporary and rarely-performed works, Professor Neal Stulberg has led the group since 2005.

This event is made possible by the David and Irmgard Dobrow Fund. Classical music was a passion of the Dobrows, who established a generous endowment at The UCLA Herb Alpert School of Music to make programs like this possible. We are proud to celebrate this program as part of the 2024 - 25 Dobrow Series.

This event will be ticketed through the LA Philharmonic. Purchase your tickets now!
