ZUMA Saxophone Quartet was formed in the fall of 2025 at The UCLA Herb Alpert School of Music and includes Haruka Taguchi (soprano), Austin Hailey (alto), Olivia Phaneuf (tenor), and Qeanu Smith (baritone). The quartet is focused on intentional programming, accessibility to the arts, and educational outreach. As Gluck Fellows, they perform in diverse community spaces throughout Los Angeles, bringing a wide-ranging repertoire that spans classical, pop, jazz, and contemporary genres. Through their work, ZUMA aims to foster meaningful connections with audiences and contribute to a more inclusive arts landscape.
