The “Danbo Duo” consists of two instruments: Clarinet & Piano. Clarinetist Daniel Hernandez (master’s student) and pianist Hongbo Cai (doctoral candidate), both in their first year at UCLA,
use music to celebrate connection and culture. Their programs jump from classical gems to film scores and pop hits, while also spotlighting works by Mexican and Chinese composers that
honor their roots. With expressive playing and a spirit of inclusion, the Danbo Duo turns every concert into an engaging experience that feels fresh, entertaining, and open to all.
