What is Music Production?

When a music-maker gets the seed of an idea for a song or piece of music, it is driven by an emotion and/or experience. But how do you turn that feeling into music that ends up representing and sounding like what you are feeling? This summer intensive for high school students unravels the mystery and challenges of music production. Join us for a deep dive the techniques and learn from an amazing selection of music producer professionals and artists.

How do You Create the Sound of Emotion?

During the week, in TEN masterclass/workshops, you will learn how to:

  • define the concept for your music and visualise and create your musical and sonic arrangement
  • learn the basics of mic technique to capture the sound that ’feels’ right
  • learn DIY home recording techniques.
  • use your DAW as a musical instrument to create music
  • use MIDI, royalty free sample libraries (Splice) and plugins
  • create beats
  • use and create top level vocal production techniques
