Kelly Brennan-Kleyn is a CPA and the founder of KBK Management, which handles business management and financial operations for touring artists, large-scale events, and creative companies.
She started booking concerts at 17 while earning her BA in theater at UCSB, then landed at CAA while working the door at Club Spaceland on the side. From there she spent three years in artist management, including as day-to-day manager for one of her favorite artists of all time, followed by eight years on the road as a tour accountant for some of the highest grossing tours in history. She went on to lead finance for a global entertainment company, then earned her CPA and launched KBK.
At UCLA, she’s looking forward to giving students a real look at how the money actually moves, from ticket counts and tour budgets to royalties and taxes.
She’s been to all seven continents – but is a California kid through and through.
