The LAN Trio - The UCLA Herb Alpert School of Music
The UCLA Gluck
Clarinet, Violin and Cello Trio

“The LAN Trio from UCLA brings together violinist Jamily Lee, cellist Nao Nadahara, and clarinetist and pianist Cyrus Asasi. The ensemble’s name is derived from the initials of the musicians’ last names: Lee, Asasi, and Nadahara.
Jamily Lee began studying the violin at age seven and is currently a third-year undergraduate at UCLA, pursuing degrees in Violin Performance and Music Education under the guidance of Varty Manouelian and Lyndon Johnston Taylor. She serves as second violin principal of the California Young Artists Symphony (CYAS) and has performed for and worked with distinguished musicians including Frank Huang, Midori, Ilya Kaler, and Almita Vamos.
Nao Nadahara is a fourth-year undergraduate at UCLA, majoring in Cello Performance under Ben Hong. He is also a pre-medical student and intends to pursue medical school after graduation. With just over ten years of experience on the instrument, he has explored a wide range of classical performance opportunities, from solo performance at the Cantus International Music Festival in Vienna to orchestral experience with the American Youth Symphony. Aside from performance he also enjoys composition, and recently began writing a cello concerto.
Cyrus Asasi recently graduated from UCLA with dual degrees in Computer Science and Clarinet Performance and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Clarinet Performance in the studio of Boris Allakhverdyan. Having studied clarinet and piano for over a decade, he serves as principal and E-flat clarinetist of CYAS. He was also a winner of the All-Stars competition and has performed as a soloist with UCLA’s Philharmonia.
Together, the LAN Trio aims to share its diverse musical backgrounds and passion for chamber music with communities throughout Los Angeles, fostering meaningful musical connections through performance and community engagement. “
