Join us for a free performance of the UCLA Gluck Woodwind Quintet at the Los Angeles Public Library Valley Plaza Branch!
Each UCLA Gluck Woodwind Quintet features one of each of the instruments in the woodwind family–oboe, flute, bassoon, and clarinet–as well as the french horn, a brass instrument with a rich and warm tone, to compliment the woodwinds. This combination of different musical timbres creates an ensemble that is capable of portraying countless colors, emotions and styles, while offering a musical repertoire that spans many genres and eras. Whether the pieces are familiar or new, audiences will be delighted by this unique style of chamber music.
Since 1996, the UCLA Gluck Fellows Music Outreach Program has been the beneficiary of a generous grant from the Max H. Gluck Foundation, which enables our finest UCLA music students to offer educational performances at over 150 schools, libraries, senior centers, and other nontraditional venues throughout Los Angeles County.
Each academic year, the school hand selects top-tier UCLA student performers to participate in the Gluck Fellows Music Outreach Program. Known as Gluck Fellows, these students perform in chamber ensembles or as solo artists, offering free educational performances across an immense diversity of musical styles.
