Celebrated pianist and UCLA professor Gloria Cheng has been awarded a Los Angeles Area Emmy® Award by the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences for Best Independent Programming for her role as Producer of PBS SoCal‘s documentary “Montage: Great Film Composers and the Piano,” which features six legendary film composers as they each write an original piece for a classic pianist to perform. The winners were announced at the 70th Los Angeles Area Emmy® Awards presentation on Saturday, July 28, 2018 at the Saban Media Center in North Hollywood.
