Byron Sleugh
Music Performance (Trombone) M.M. ’20

Byron is a trombone player based in Los Angeles, California. He performs regularly on tenor, bass, and contrabass trombones.

Byron can be heard regularly performing with groups such as the Disneyland Band, Santa Monica Symphony, South Side Symphony, and many others. He has also performed with many West Coast orchestras including the Long Beach Symphony, Fresno Philharmonic, and the Monterey Symphony. Byron has also shared the stage with Chloe Bailey, Halle Bailey, Andra Day, and more. In addition to spirited live performances, Byron has also recorded for various film, television, and new media projects including the scores for Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, Haunted Mansion, The Color Purple, and Ahsoka.

In addition to being an in-demand performer, Byron also loves teaching. He can be found teaching with the Los Angeles Philharmonic’s YOLA program and Pierce College in the Los Angeles area.

Byron completed his undergraduate degree at the University of North Texas and graduated with a Master of Music from the University of California – Los Angeles (UCLA).

When he is not working, Byron enjoys cooking, video games, watching or playing basketball, and spending time with his cat, Dizzy.
