Shujaat Husain Khan is one of the greatest young masters of North Indian classical music. In this recording, a lengthy and serious performance of a single raga, he illustrates his indebtedness to his family’s tradition and shows off some of the new musical material he has created. Shujaat is accompanied on the tabla on this recording by Abhiman Kaushal, who has accompanied many leading musicians of North Indian classical music, including Pandit Ravi Shankar, Pandit Jasraj, and Pandit Hari Prasad Chaurasia.
