Rising senior Tiffany Wee distinguished herself as a leader at the prestigious Tanglewood Music Festival, one of the most competitive full-ride summer training programs in the world. As a Tanglewood Fellow, she had two remarkable opportunities.

The first was as concertmaster for a semi-staged opera “The Cricket Recovers” at the Seiji Ozawa Hall, conducted by Thomas Adès. In the audience was her teacher, UCLA Professor Movses Pogossian, who was a Tanglewood Fellow exactly 30 years earlier. “It was a joy for me to witness how professionally she was leading the orchestra and superbly negotiating an extremely complicated part with numerous solos,” he said.

Tiffany also had the great honor of being one of only two violinists chosen to perform for world-renowned violinist Leonidas Kavakos at his public masterclass. She worked with Kavakos for over an hour on Beethoven’s Sonata No. 3.

“Seeing Tiffany thrive in Tanglewood, and learn so much from these amazing experiences and opportunities, is a pure joy,” said Pogossian.
