Honoring a Beloved Teacher

Barbara Morrison mentored a generation of jazz artists at The UCLA Herb Alpert School of Music. Her inspired teaching and radiant artistry moved a devoted group of volunteers to create the Barbara Morrison Scholarship for Jazz to support students in the Global Jazz Studies program.

Following Barbara’s passing in 2022, support for the fund has grown. With a mission to memorialize Barbara’s unparalleled teaching and performance legacy, a grassroots effort raised over $100,000 from almost 100 donors to endow this scholarship.
