Bands have performed on campus since the very beginning of UCLA. The Marching Band was formalized in 1928 after evolving from a pep band and the ROTC band. The “Detailed History” has over 45,000 words in twelve chapters. Thanks to Jeremy Whitt, Kelsey Chesnut, and Keith Kupper for their help in assembling this document.
