Available on Apple Music, Spotify, and Bandcamp, Nick DePinna’s new work “Sentiments of JUSTICE, HUMANITY, COURAGE, and PEACE” takes its name from a 1775 essay printed in the Pennsylvania Journal and Weekly Advertiser. Focusing on the themes of justice and humanity, the piece draws notes from “classics of Americana that range across two centuries, from the acapella, colonial-era choral hymns to patriotic music of the nineteenth century.
Recorded at the School of Music’s very own Evelyn and Mo Ostin Recording Studio, many school of music faculty and alumni were also involved in the process: Hitomi Oba (co-producer), Dan Rosenboom (trumpet), Erick Jovel (trumpet), Byron Sleugh (trombone), SiHyun Uhm (Conductor), Ennis Harris (Assistant Producer), Tom Terrell (Assistant Producer), Bradley Stires (consultant).
