We are excited to celebrate the incredible achievements of the graduating students at UCLA Herb Alpert School of Music’s 2018 Commencement ceremony.

The Commencement ceremony will be held on Friday, June 15 in North Dickson Court (outside).
The ceremony will begin promptly at 4pm.
Students & Faculty should arrive by 3pm.
All Guests must be seated by 3:45pm.
No tickets required.
A reception will immediately follow the ceremony at 5:30pm in South Dickson Court (outside).

Cap and Gown

UCLA and the surrounding area get quite congested with traffic during Commencement Weekend. Please help your friends and family plan accordingly. Visit this page to get more information about getting here via car and public transportation.


The closest parking structures to Schoenberg Hall are Lots 2 and 3; please see a campus map for more details. We advise that you make parking arrangements for your guests prior to the ceremony.

Parking permits may be purchased:
  • beginning Monday, April 30, 2018, purchased at Parking Services in the Strathmore Building;
  • beginning Tuesday, May 29, 2018, purchased at the Central Ticket Office (CTO); or
  • on the day of the ceremony, purchased at a Parking and Information Booth, or from a parking attendant at any parking structure.
Parking permit types: 
  • $12 per vehicle – a (standard) Commencement parking permit; and
  • $6 per vehicle – a DP (disabled placard) Commencement parking permit for vehicles displaying a Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV)-issued disabled person placard or plate. Both the DP parking permit and DMV-issued DP placard MUST be displayed.
