Erik Madrid
Lecturer - Music Industry (Mixing)

Erik Madrid is a UCLA graduate and Grammy award winning mixer who is one of the brightest stars in this generation of mixing engineers. He has successfully operated his own business for mixing and engineering services for over a dozen years and dedicated himself to the education and mentorship of aspiring engineers and musicians. His meticulous workflow and knowledge combines the best of the analog and digital worlds and he quickly gained the attention of the music industry’s elite with his passion for mixing and music technology.

After graduation, the Bay Area-raised engineer worked his way up from the bottom landing multiple music internships, including one at world-renowned Westlake Recording Studios in Hollywood. There he learned how to use large format consoles, analog hardware and software, microphones, and the top-tier customer service required in the music industry. He then went on to engineer under of legendary mixer Manny Marroquin at Larrabee Studios in North Hollywood where they worked on over one thousand songs together. Madrid transitioned into being a freelance mixer and has since gone on to work with artists across multiple genres of music.

To date, he has mixed marquee artists such as Jazmine Sullivan, Kehlani, A$AP Rocky, Khalid, Sinéad Harnett, D Smoke, Alina Baraz, Roddy Ricch, Demi Lovato, Lauv, Ledisi, Kyle, Goapele, and others.
