Ryan Svendsen
Lecturer, Music Industry (Advanced Music Supervision)

Head of Music at Angel Studios & Musician

As the Head of Music at Angel Studios, Ryan Svendsen oversees and directs all music initiatives and productions across the studio’s slate with a mission to amplify light. His previous role at Millennium Media included being Head of Music and Music Supervisor to over 18 films. Prior to Millennium, Svendsen was a Director of Film and TV Music at Lionsgate where he managed the release of 70 soundtracks including the Academy Award-winning best song and score for “La La Land.”

While Music for Visual Media is Ryan’s primary professional focus, he has found commercial success as a trumpet player and horn arranger from his home studio. Ryan has accumulated over 5 billion streams from his collaborations on trending songs with artists such as Beyoncé, Christina Aguilera, Jack Harlow, 070 Shake, Paul Russell and the chart topping 6x platinum Lil Nas X hit, “Industry Baby.”

As an advocate for the Arts and Music, Svendsen currently serves as Alumni Board Chair for the UCLA Herb Alpert School of Music, instructor of Music Supervision at UCLA Extension, and lecturer in the Music Industry IDP. Ryan is also an avid masters swimmer and has swam from Alcatraz 3 times.

He is driven by his love for music and his mission to create impactful and memorable soundscapes for visual media and their audiences.
