Archive Wednesday: Gerry O'Connor on "The Rose in the Gap"
Ethnomusicology Archive – Room 1630 – Schoenberg Music Building

Join us for our next Archive Wednesday as world-renowned Irish fiddler and researcher Gerry "Fiddle" O'Connor talks about his recently published tune book, "The Rose in the Gap: Dance Music of Oriel from the Donnellan Collection." The book is a new edition in modern notation of tunes from the South Ulster area of Ireland, first seen in an article by Rev. Luke Donnellan, published in 1909 in the County Louth Archaeological Journal.

Later that day, at 6:00 PM, join us for a workshop and master class with Gerry. He will also be available for individual lessons on fiddle.

For more information, contact Aaron Bittel at ambittel@schoolofmusic.ucla.edu or 310.825.1695.
