Dr. Mark Almond
masterclasses
Zoom

Associate Principal Horn of the San Francisco Symphony, and physician/immunologist, Mark Almond will work with UCLA Horn Students in a Masterclass. (In addition to playing the horn, Almond is an experienced hospital physician and has a Ph.D. in immunology and virology from Imperial College, London. He is currently researching COVID-19 as a Post-Doctoral Research Scholar at UCSF.) Mark will discuss his unique career path from his debut playing with the London Symphony Orchestra to performing with the San Francisco Symphony.

This event is made possible by the David and Irmgard Dobrow Fund. Classical music was a passion of the Dobrows, who established a generous endowment at The UCLA Herb Alpert School of Music to make programs like this possible. We are proud to celebrate this program as part of the 2020 - 21 Dobrow Series.
