Klezmer Workshop featuring Dan Blacksberg and Deborah Strauss

klezmer workshop featuring Dan Blacksberg and Deb Strauss offered by Lowell Milken Center for Music of American Jewish Experience
Zoom

5PM Pacific Time Zone / 8PM Eastern Time Zone

For the second part of this workshop, you'll be joining the UCLA Klezmer Ensemble in addition to Blacksberg and Strauss. Grab your fiddle and pull out your trombone again for a continuation of this fun instrumental workshop series for all playing levels. Join Dan Blacksberg and Deborah Strauss, two of the klezmer world’s top instrumentalists, as we break down tunes to their fundamental elements. With this uniquely talented faculty, you will build your understanding of klezmer standards and learn how elements of movement are connected to the way we play. Whether you are a professional musician, or have a clarinet that hasn’t been touched in 30 years, this is a great opportunity to get to know klezmer!

This event is made possible by the Lowell Milken Center for Music of American Jewish Experience at The UCLA Herb Alpert School of Music with additional generous support from the David Vickter Foundation.
