Behzad Nadimi is an accomplished santūr player. He was instrumental in collecting and publishing the radīf of Mirza-Abdollah (2016) for santūr. He has performed throughout Iran and in California. He is a direct disciple of santūr Master Pashang Kamkar. Nadimi’s lecture/demonstration will consist of three parts: a) introduction of santūr; b) the radīf and santūr; and c) performance. He currently volunteers his time to help with the Iranian music ensemble.
The Iranian Music Lecture Series is made possible thanks to generous support from the Farhang Foundation, The UCLA Herb Alpert School of Music Department of Ethnomusicology, and the UCLA Center for Near Eastern Studies, with additional support from the Dean of The UCLA Herb Alpert School of Music.
