Musicianship Masterclass with Singer-Songwriter Luciana Souza

masterclasses
Orchestra Room – SMB 1343

Grammy-winner and singer-songwriter Luciana Souza will hold a masterclass during the school of music's "M6 Intro To Musicianship" course. Open to all students and faculty, the masterclass will be an excellent opportunity to see and hear how a professionally active, highly accomplished singer applies singing/ear training/keyboard skills for her own artistic execution and development. Souza has worked with jazz legends and professors Herbie Hancock and Wayne Shorter, among many others, and she recently performed at Royce Hall with her band, presenting her latest album, "The Book of Longing" (Sunnyside Records). This event is co-sponsored by the Department of Music and the Center for the Advancement of Teaching.
