Opera UCLA presents Donizetti’s evergreen comedy The Elixir of Love in a new production by UCLA alumnus stage director James Darrah. Focusing on the singers, Darrah reveals the complexities and challenges of learning to love when you feel that no one cares. This production is performed with piano accompaniment and will be conducted by Opera UCLA music director Rakefet Hak. Guest tenor Arnold Livingston Geis stars as the lovesick but persistent Nemorino for two of the four performances.

Seating is extremely limited for each performance. Advance RSVP is strongly suggested.

Four Performances:

Thursday, June 2, 8:00 p.m.
Friday, June 3, 8:00 p.m.
Saturday, June 4, 8:00 p.m.
Sunday, June 5, 1:00 p.m.

Seating is extremely limited for each performance.

This event is made possible by the David and Irmgard Dobrow Fund. Classical music was a passion of the Dobrows, who established a generous endowment at The UCLA Herb Alpert School of Music to make programs like this possible. We are proud to celebrate this program as part of the 2022 - 23 Dobrow Series.
