UCLA Wind Ensemble and Symphonic Band feat. Grammy Award-winner Hila Plitmann

Hila Plitmann
classical
Schoenberg Hall

The UCLA Symphonic Band, an ensemble comprising talented students from across the university, opens the concert with works by Cait Nishimura, Michael Daugherty, Frank Ticheli, and Alfred Reed. The UCLA Wind Ensemble follows with Timothy Mahr’s cheerful Bright Side, Jake Runestad’s wind transcription of his beloved choral work Let My Love Be Heard, and Michael Daugherty’s Labyrinth of Love for soprano and chamber winds, featuring Grammy Award winner Hila Plitmann.

Made possible by the David and Irmgard Dobrow Fund. Classical music was a passion of the Dobrows, who established a generous endowment at The UCLA Herb Alpert School of Music to make programs like this possible. We are proud to celebrate this program as part of the 2018-2019 Dobrow Series.
