Musician
Violinist Liliana Filipovic received her B.A. in Music from the University of Belgrad/Serbia-former Yugoslavia and her M.M. from UCLA in 1995 where she was a Mimi Alpert Feldman scholar and recipient of the Nakamichi Music Scholarship. An avid orchestra and chamber musician, she has worked with Los Angeles Opera, Los Angeles Master Chorale and Santa Barbara Opera among others.
Liliana has collaborated with notable conductors and artists such as Zubin Mehta, Valeri Georgiev, Marco Armiliato, Kent Nagano, Luciano Pavarotti, Placido Domingo, Pinchas Zuckerman, Maxim Vengerov, Joshua Bell, Anne Akiko Meyers, Debora Voight and Andrea Bocelli to name a few. In addition, she has performed on film and TV soundtracks with renowned composers Hans Zimmer, Alan Silvestre, Alexandre Desplat, Randy Newman, Henri Mancini, Christopher Young, Elmar Bernstein, David Newman, Danny Elfman, Thomas Newman, Howard Shore and others. Liliana has also performed live with notable musicians Andrea Bocelli, Celine Dion, Seal, Whitney Huston, Rhianna, Rod Stewart, Pete Townshend, Billy Idol, Pearl Jam and Patti LaBelle.
In 2014, she was appointed concertmaster of the Angel City Chorale and in July 2020 was named commissioner to the inaugural Arts and Culture Commission for the City of Beverly Hills.
