Cayden Bloomer (oboe) and Kayla Yeonhee Lee (violin) are fourth-year undergraduates at The UCLA Herb Alpert School of Music pursuing Bachelor of Music degrees in performance. They first met as freshmen in music theory class and quickly discovered their shared love of making music together. From sight reading fun duets to planning out a joint Junior recital together, the duo has grown as both musicians and friends throughout their studies. Most recently, the duo guest lectured at Santa Monica College and performed a wide range of repertoire, from Mozart and Shostakovich to Disney’s Greatest Hits. What began as a classroom friendship has blossomed into a meaningful musical partnership that Cayden and Kayla are excited to carry forward, as they continue exploring new opportunities to share diverse and engaging performances with their communities.
