Contributors who make a gift of any amount to the Brian Wilson Scholarship Fund are invited to attend the never-before-seen film SMiLE, taped in February 2004 at Royal Festival Hall. Following the film, Beach Boy Brian Wilson and Professor David Leaf will take the stage to discuss the making of the film.

Gabrielian will perform Schumann’s Papillons, Op. 2, and Schubert’s Piano Sonata in A Minor, D845, followed by a masterclass with UCLA student pianists Sophia Su, Duong Phan and Brandon Zhou, playing Chopin and Brahms.

Featuring performances by UCLA’s own Vladimir Chernov (baritone) with other faculty, students and alumni from the UCLA vocal department, this event honors the life and works of Hermann Leopoldi, one of the pre-eminent composers of early jazz-influenced Viennese Cabaret music.
Fay Victor, an improvising vocalist, composer, lyricist and educator, will give a lecture about her experiences with communicating messages and discuss how budding artistic souls can do the same.
The original ‘Funny of Die’, Max and Willy’s Last Laugh is the unbelievable true story of German comedian Max Ehrlich and his best friend, composer Willy Rosen, two of the biggest Cabaret stars of 1930’s Germany who created “the greatest cabaret in Europe,” while incarcerated in Holland’s Westerbork Transit Camp.
