Con esta antología, nuestra meta es plantear nuevas perspectivas acerca del rumbo que sigue la etnomusicología o, mejor dicho, la musicología global. Podemos ver, por medio de varios ensayos clásicos y más recientes, cómo se han desarrollado ciertos aspectos del campo durante los últimos cien años, y dónde podemos ir hoy y mañana. Todos los ensayos seleccionados para esta obra fueron ejemplos de innovación durante sus propias épocas, pero algo también significativo de esta compilación es el hecho de que hemos incluido pensamientos representantivos de varios sectores del mundo, así como los de una musicología global.
Published in collaboration with CENIDIM and the UCLA Latin American Institute and written entirely in Spanish, our goal with this anthology is to present new perspectives on ethnomusicology or, rather, global musicology. We can see, through several classic and more recent essays, how certain aspects of the field have developed over the last hundred years, and where we can go today and tomorrow. All of the essays selected for this work were examples of innovation during their own times, but something significant about this compilation is the fact that we have included thoughts representative of various sectors of the world, as well as those of a global musicology.
