LA-based Haitian-American soprano Sabrina Langlois, alumna of The UCLA Herb Alpert School of Music, has won 3rd prize in the 2025 Western Regional Metropolitan Opera Laffont Competition.
Langlois has made a number of prominent appearances since her graduation. She performed as soprano soloist in the premiere of Rhiannon Giddens’ chamber opera, “Omar’s Journey” at the 2023 Ojai Music Festival, with Opera Saratoga in New York, and two consecutive summers with the Ravinia Festival in the Chicago metropolitan region. Langlois regularly performs with the Los Angeles Opera Chorus.


Sabrina Langlois. received a bachelor’s in music education from the University of Miami before pursuing a master’s in vocal performance at The UCLA Herb Alpert School of Music under the direction of Professor Juliana Gondek. With Opera UCLA, Langlois premiered the role of Penelope in Kay Rhie’s Quake and Dr. Veronica Vera in the workshop performance of Richard Danielpour’s The Grand Hotel Tartarus. She also performed the roles of Anne Trulove in The Rake’s Progress and Adina in L’elisir d’amore. As a UCLA All Stars Competition winner, she sang Samuel Barber’s “Knoxville: Summer of 1915” with the UCLA Philharmonia. Langlois graduated with her master’s in 2023.
