Meet with an Advisor - The UCLA Herb Alpert School of Music

Connecting with an Advisor

The Office of Student Affairs offers various ways for students to receive academic advising. When communicating with our office and an advisor, always include your UCLA ID (UID), program, and reasons for connecting so your advisor can best answer your questions.

We encourage students to utilize all online resources available before reaching out to our office. Please refer to our Undergraduate and Graduate student pages for more information!

Email

Email the Office of Student Affairs or your program advisor.

Please allow 3 – 5 business days for a response, before following up.

Our office aims to respond to inquiries and meet with students in a timely manner throughout the academic year. During busy times – enrollment, performance season, and commencement – please expect delayed communication and impacted availability.

Schedule a Meeting

Schedule a meeting with your program advisor. Scheduled meetings are typically longer than drop-in hours and are ideal for answering questions about:

  • Degree Planning, such as adding a degree program, studying abroad, and time to degree concerns
  • Academic, personal, and professional support, through referrals to campus resources
  • Complex situations and scenarios, that are better discussed face-to-face

Please refer to the scheduling page for the advisor you want to meet with.
