Stefano Greco, one of the world’s most renowned specialists in Bach’s music, begins the first of a four-event residency by performing original compositions from a select group of our Composition students and the members of our esteemed Composition faculty.
Stefano Greco finishes his residency with a performance of Bach’s Die Kunst der Fuga (The Art of Fugue) BWV 1080. This event will be presented at the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia’s historic Auditorium Parco della Musica in Rome at the Teatro Studio.
Stefano Greco takes you on a journey through one of the most intriguing compositions of the pre-Classical era. The Goldberg Variations are part of a handful of works that truly require a roadmap for the listener. Stefano will show us the keys to understanding and translating Bach’s intentions found within the indications and markings within the piece.
Bridge to Everywhere musicians and composers Derrick Skye and James Waterman lead a workshop sharing effective strategies and approaches in collaborations involving diverse musical traditions, including Hindustani rhythmic structures and melodic frameworks, Ghanaian polyrhythms, Balkan Folk music, and Western classical music.
